Weekday construction: Volunteers are needed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  New volunteers are required to complete the on-line volunteer registration and orientation.  We are unable to accept anyone under the age of 16 on our construction sites.  Building locations and specific information can be found on our construction calendar or our online scheduler. We work every week (with the exception of holiday weekends).  Previous construction experience is not required.

Construction warehouse: Volunteers are needed Wednesday from 8:00 - 2:00 to assist with pre-building, warehouse organization and vehicle/tool maintenance.  We are building a regular team of warehouse support.  Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or older and previous construction experience is not required.  For more information or to sign up, contact Kathleen at (903) 595-6630 X 10 or email

Saturday construction: Volunteers are needed Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  See weekday construction description for information.  Previous construction experience is not required.

Regular construction: If you are able to commit to a day or two a month on a Saturday or weekday, you can become part of a regular construction crew.  You will officially become a regular once you volunteer 6 or more times with HFHSC and receive a t-shirt, special nametag, & meet great people and learn a lot.

ReStore: Volunteers are needed Tuesday through Saturday, shift times are flexible. Customer service and retail experience is helpful, but not mandatory.

Administrative assistance: Office assistance is needed for our main office, construction warehouse, and both ReStore locations.  Volunteer shifts and times are flexible and available Monday through Saturday.  Data entry and customer service experience helpful, but not mandatory.

Other areas of need/ committee volunteers: Since HFHSC is a volunteer driven organization, we have a tremendous need for volunteers outside of construction.  See our non-construction link for specific information regarding these needs.
